Philosophy and Ethics - Research Programme

Central Research Topics
Our current research focuses on four main areas, namely:

  1. Design, risks and moral values

  2. The modeling and design of sociotechnical systems
       (see also the research programme Moral Responsibility in R&D Networks)
  3. Agency and artefacts
       (see also the research programme Darwinism in the Man-Made World)
  4. Technological knowledge and technological rationality
       (see also the research programmes Norms in Knowledge and Things that Make Us Smart)

Our research is embedded in the Eindhoven Center for Innovation Studies (ECIS), and the 3TU Centre of Excellence for Ethics and Technology. In addition, our group collaborates closely with the Department of Philosophy at Delft University of Technology.
